Painting of the guard
I’ve recently been working on a commission to paint a children’s bedroom, this is a part of the ongoing work that I have been doing.

Do you remember (if you did this) when you would measure your height against a door frame or wall and mark it off each year to see how much you had grown?…
thats the idea with the palace guard, he will act as a measuring guage at four feet tall including the hat, the boy is one year old now so he has some growing to do!

I painted the palace guard using acrylics.

weirdly I discovered while painting this that I can paint a straight line pretty good left handed… a usefull skill in a tight corner.

Had good fun painting the century box, I was loving the blue acrylic I got my hands on, real pleasing blue… mmm. You cant see it too well in these pictures but the outline is purple.

these pictures were taken when the sun had gone down outside and the room lights did not produce enough light for my little camera to get a really good shot without the flash which bounced off the acrylic paint and flared too much so I will get some better daytime shots when I return to complete the other imagery that will be in the room.
